My camera and/or microphone isn't working, what should I do?

If your camera or microphone does not seem to be working properly, first check that you have no other programs open that may be “holding” your devices. Applications such as Skype and Google Hangouts may be blocking CommercialTribe from using your camera – closing out of these and restarting your Chrome browser may resolve the issue.

Another possibility is that your preferences may need to be adjusted. You can always adjust your camera & microphone preferences from your Profile within CommercialTribe.

Steps to adjust your camera settings:

  1. Click your name in the upper right corner of the window and select Profile
  2. Click on the Media Selection tab
  3. Use the camera and microphone dropdowns to adjust your settings
  4. You will know the settings are correct when you see yourself in the screen and the microphone meter is responding to your voice.
  5. Click the green UPDATE MEDIA button at the bottom of the page
