Steps to Ingest Users on CommercialTribe:
- Navigate to Admin > Hierarchies
- Click Export
- In the exported spreadsheet, fill in rows for new users, or update information for existing users. Note: Do not change Row 1 this is the header row and is required to ensure functionality when re-importing the updated file.
- When you are finished save the spreadsheet as a .csv file
- On the Admin > Hierarchies page, click Import
- Select the spreadsheet you created, then click Open
- Confirm your changes by confirming the status indicates Success and clicking the “+” button to view the Log Summary

Ingest Fields Explained:
- firstName – Required Field – User’s first name
- lastName – Required Field – User’s last name
- email – Required Field – User’s email address (all lowercase)
- username – Required Field – User’s email address (all lowercase)
- employID – Not Required – If used, user’s company employee ID
- role
- reportsTo – Not Required – If used, list the user’s manager’s CommercialTribe username
- active – Required – set to either TRUE or FALSE
- groups – Not Required – If used, list groups a user is a part of. Groups need to be comma delineated (no spaces between). Groups must match name exactly as it is listed in the platform.
- groupRole – Required if adding user to a group(s) – Set to Subscriber
4. When you are finished save the spreadsheet as a .csv file
5. On the Admin > Hierarchies page, click Import
6. Select the spreadsheet you created, then click Open
7. Confirm your changes by confirming the status indicates Success and clicking the “+” button to view the Log Summary
